of C “300 Club”
As
voted at this years Vermont
State convention, we will
again have an even more successful “300 Club” this coming year. Your Convention
delegates realized the benefits of last years raffle and when we sell all of
the tickets this year, we will have even more returns from the raffle. Last
years raffle was way short of our goal of selling all of the 300 tickets. I would
like to believe that the weak economy was part of the reason for some of the
lack of sales but also some of it was also lack of effort on some parts. This
will be my 6th year of doing this raffle and I still believe that we
as a State of Brother Knights,
we can make this happen. I will be mailing out the Councils allotment of
tickets in mid August to start selling as soon as possible and not wait until
the last minute. The first drawing will be on Saturday December 12, 2009 and
continue for 19 weeks until the 2010 State Convention. You will find the list
of tickets that were sold by your council or in your area last year. These
ticket holders should be given first chance to purchase that same ticket this
year. If not, then feel free to sell it to whom you desire.
I should
have extra tickets if you need them. If you have someone who wishes to buy a
ticket but you do not have one, first get his or her name and then PLEASE
contact me and I will try and get you a ticket. All Tickets must be sold by
December 1, 2009.
Guide lines: Sell 300 tickets at a price
of $50.00 per ticket. We would have a weekly drawing for 19 weeks and have
three cash prizes as follows:
1st
prize - $100.00
2nd
prize - $75.00
3rd
prize - $50.00
On the 20th week (or State
convention) we have Grand prizes of:
1st
- $1000.00
2nd
- $500.00
3rd
- $275.00
Results: We collect a grand total of $15,000.00 and give out
$6,050.00 in prizes leaving us a profit of $8,950.00 for per-diem. This profit will
be divided evenly among the delegates with remainder to be carried over to the
next year convention.
